What are Fennec Foxes?
Fennec foxes are desert dwelling foxes that are the smallest known. However their ears are quite large, being at an average of 6 inches. They are omnivores and are mostly nocturnal, which saves them from the unforgiving heat of the day.
What are their large ears for?
The big ears are used to get rid of excess body heat and this keep them cool during the hot days.
What do they do to survive?
They're great diggers due to their specifically made paws and thus live in underground dens. They eat many things, foraging for things such as eggs, small lizards, fruits, etc. As being a desert dweller they have adapted to last a long while without water. Their fur are great and thick, and thus keep them warm during harsh nights. When trekking through the sandy environment their paws are somewhat like boots, not being bothered by the blistering sand. They are also somewhat like wolves as they live in medium sized packs, usually around 10 individuals.
